This place has been a staple for a long time. As a St. Olaf Student, I never actually ate at the Ole Store. Coming back and settling in Northfield for now, I have checked in a few times. The food is absolutely delicious - the staff are prompt and cater to any ask. This is a top tier establishment. Like straight up Michelin star status, in my humble opinion. I have had breakfast here several times and the consistency is spot on. The dinner menu is comprehensive and everything was cooked to perfection. I can not conjure up enough good things to say about this place. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

While it has been over three years since my daughter graduated from Carleton College, it's always a thrill to stop in at Ole Store Restaurant when visiting cozy Northfield. Love the Scandinavian ambiance, great food, drinks and friendly staff. We had a tasty brunch including the classic benedict, veggie hash and salmon gravlox while in town for the NCAA DIII Cross Country Regional Championship at Carleton. Check it out!

Everything I’ve ever had here has always been great. The service is always good too. I’ve been here for breakfast and dinner and has yet to disappoint. Their fast with getting us seating as well as getting the food out. The last time in was there I got their steak and potatoes, it was 10/10 I think it is my new favorite item on their menu. They do get fairly busy during dinner as well as depending on the day. Friday dinner time you may need to make a reservation in advance. Over all if you’re in the area I’d recommend trying out the Ole Store

For some reason, it took us 4 years to go here after moving to town. I'm not sure why? Anyway, we had a great experience. The food was good, the service was great (granted, got there right at open and only people there). Overall, it is not bad pricing compared to others, and the food I feel fits the prices.

We had a very nice meal here yesterday evening. I got a delicious salmon dish, and the appetizers we shared were also great. We liked the casual store atmosphere. The service was extremely friendly and nice. The food did take a while to come (35-40 minutes after ordering), and I'm not sure if that's typical but maybe good to be aware of if you are planning for time. (We weren't in a hurry.)

We enjoyed our first meal outside in Lena’s Lawn which has the PERFECT location for eating out with kids on a nice summer day. Every bit of food was deliciously prepared, especially the fries and the Pork Schnitzel sandwiches which had just the right amount of citrus and slaw! Never a bad experience at the Ole Store!

A few days ago, I had breakfast here, and it was amazing! I ordered their famous Ole Burger, and it was incredibly fresh—every ingredient tasted top-notch and super flavorful. For my drink, I just had a regular iced tea—nothing out of the ordinary there. The restaurant’s atmosphere gave off a cozy, European vibe, which I really enjoyed. What stood out the most was how the food and ambiance were inspired by traditional Norwegian culture—it was such a cool touch. I highly recommend checking this spot out—definitely a hidden gem!

Reservations were easy online. We weren't able to make a reservation for 10 online but did two parties of five, and they gave us a table (already ready upon arrival) to accommodate! Our waitress was super friendly. The food was hot and fresh! I had ordered the Ole Breakfast. The jam for the toast was delicious. I'd be curious to know if they make it or buy it, because I want more!! :) Eggs were cooked perfectly. All around a great breakfast with family. Thank you!
